Swan Creek Cemetery Civil War Monument
Civil War Monument Rededication May 29, 2000

  Monclova township officials hosted a ceremony at Swan Creek Cemetery on Memorial Day, to rededicate the Civil War monument 130 years after its original dedication. The marble monument was originally  dedicated on Memorial Day in 1870.
  Captain Bob Minton spoke for the 14th OVI about the hardships suffered by troops during battle and inherent to the time, such as long travel and poor communications. Captain Minton set a wreath on the monument after his presentation.
  Ohio Rep. Lynn Olman offered a commendation on behalf of the House of Representatives for the renovation of the historical landmark.
  The following contributors were recognized for their donations toward restoration of the monument: The Greater Toledo Civil War Roundtable, 14th Ohio Reenactment Unit, and Buckeye CableSystem.
