14th OVI / 3rd Arkansas Civil War Reenactors
Fremont 2004 Photo Page
The 14th OVI fought three battles in Fremont Ohio at Spiegel Grove the first weekend in October. Two battles were fought on Saturday with mixed results for the superior Union force. A nice dinner was served on Saturday night that helped to keep everyone warm on a night that saw temperatures drop down to the low 30's. Sunday's battle went well for the Federal force as Major Minton led us to victory. Following the battle on Sunday was a Wreath-Laying Ceremony at the tomb of President Hayes. We concluded the event with a reception in our honor given by the the Ohio Historical Society and the Hayes Presidential Center. The 14th OVI was publicly thanked for our efforts to preserve history.
