The event at Stranahan Arboretum started out rough on Saturday. Lots of wind and rain forced the cancellation of the Maple Festival at 2:00 PM. The tribute to Rick Shoemaker and the meeting were also postponed until a later date. Most chose to go home, dry out, and try again on Sunday. The weather was great on Sunday and we were able to drill and talk with many spectators. Several soldiers and visitors played baseball with period equipment Sunday afternoon. Thanks to all who returned on Sunday and made the event a success. I would also like to thank everyone that stayed until the event ended and helped to pick up camp.
